The Warmroof is our award-winning solid roof and is the most configurable and structurally robust, insulated and tiled roof in the UK. Thanks to our Warmroof technology, our building control approved roof provides the highest levels of thermal efficiency. Suitable for a wide range of conservatory builds, replacements and refurbishment projects, our Warmroof is the only true ‘warm roof’ construction design in the solid, tiled roofing sector.
A Warmroof is a high-performance roofing solution designed to transform standard conservatories into year-round living spaces.
Unlike traditional polycarbonate or glass roofs, a warm roof uses a layered, solid construction to prioritize thermal efficiency, effectively turning a "glass box" into a proper extension.

The term "warm roof" refers to the placement of insulation. In this design, the insulation sits above the structural rafters, keeping the internal structure at a temperature close to that of the room.
Lightweight Frame: Constructed from high-grade aluminum to keep the weight manageable for existing and new conservatory walls.
Rigid Insulation: Thick layers of high-performance foam (like PIR boards) that prevent heat from escaping.
External Finish: Lightweight composite tiles or slate that mimic the appearance of a standard house roof.
Internal Finish: Typically a plastered vaulted ceiling, often fitted with recessed LED lighting, Velux roof lights, or fully glazed panels. ( Hybrid roof )

The most common complaint about conservatories is that they are "too hot in summer, too cold in winter." A warm roof dramatically reduces the U-value (heat loss rate).
Winter: Retains internal heat, reducing heating bills.
Summer: Reflects solar glare and heat, keeping the room cool.
Rain falling on a polycarbonate or glass roof can be deafening. The layered solid construction of a warm roof acts as an acoustic barrier, making the space significantly quieter during storms.
By matching the roof tiles to the rest of your home, the conservatory looks like a seamless extension rather than an afterthought. This integration often adds more tangible value to the property than a standard conservatory.
By keeping the structural elements "warm," the system eliminates the cold spots where moisture typically collects, significantly reducing the risk of mold and damp.

We engaged with Artisan Windows in the autumn of 2023 and asked them to remove our old conservatory, and replace it with a new garden room, with big windows looking out over the garden and a "warm roof" overhead. The structure is an absolute delight and a game changer to the structure of our property......warm, comfortable, light (the roof contains velux windows), and quite simply a wonderful enhancement to our home. The Artisan team were a great "crew" to have on site and have I no hesitation in recommending them and providing this testimonial.Mr & Mrs Jones
